Another tragic hit and run fatality in Portland. This time a disabled man was killed when he and his wheelchair were struck.
Anyone have ideas on how we can reduce our traffic violence in Portland? It seems we are getting farther and farther away from Vision Zero. I realize Mingus Mapps has only had a few months to get PBOT back on track but what else can be done?
Portland spends a LOT of taxpayer dollars on a giant squad of equity managers and administrators but it certainly doesn’t seem like there is much “safe transportation” equity in the city “that used to at least sorta work”. Maybe less virtue signaling and more pragmatic actions? Where is the concern for our disabled, elderly and children (who are vulnerable road users)?
