Suspicious pile of bicycles: New Avenues for Youth halfway house / 1220 SW Columbia St

The pile of bike frames and bike parts in the New Avenues for Youth’s flower bed seems out of place, or even suspicious. New Avenues for Youth at 1220 SW Columbia St in downtown is a youth oriented 501c3 non-profit homelessness services provider.

It appears that whatever activities that has been happening in the public sidewalk at the NE corner of SW 12th/SW Columbia has moved onto the New Avenues for Youth transitional housing, SMYRC and administrative office property. It’s within plain sight and visible to unaided vision where there’s no reasonable expectations of privacy, so there’s nothing questionable about any of the photos in this post.

As of March 29, 2022, I was still seeing incomplete bicycles, but only one or two inoperable bicycles seen at a time on the sidewalk or in NEW AVENUES FOR YOUTH premises.

This is what happens when you don’t enforce laws. Not that hard of a concept to understand. If you don’t like a law, change it. Otherwise they need to be followed and enforced.
