We’re all feeling a wee bit safer. But all the detritus from the motorists’ passage ends up in the segregated lane. Until real action is taken to sweep the street from curb to curb, one will be avoiding these new “amenities.”
Totally agree PinkBikeGuy. This is a problem that I’m afraid is too often dismissed as whining. We need PBOT to take bike lane maintenance much more seriously. We are not taking full advantage of our investment in new facilities if we allow them to get so messy and full of debris that they are uninviting to most people. I’m trying to think of ways to approach this and help.
One thing we could do is use these forums for folks to organize clean-up parties on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis. Would you be interested in posting a clean-up/sweep party for your n’hood?
