Gateway Green Construction

Construction for the long planned project(s) are in full movement. I use this MUP a lot and have not had any issue with access.
The temporary path at the top of the southside hill, is a C shaped asphalt smooth ride, that a percentage of South East Portland gravel-pot-holed “streets” could only dream about.
The off road / recreation / human interaction areas are as busy as usual.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much of GG is open and rideable. The BikePortland articles from last summer made it sound like a 3-year total closure.

The three year closures from both of the above links are for the two dirt trails (Linda’s line and Rebar ridge) at the southern tip of the park ……at the top of the hill, in the same area that a new park entry will be.
Trimet has promised detours when they start building the new track crossing, sited above the existing 205 MUP @ the south entry area. That will be major constructive machinations [ pile driving …etc.] We’ll see.
