Not to “yuck” anybody’s “yum” if it is actually stolen, but given the age and the quality of components, I’d say the likelihood that somebody was trying to recycle it or give it away is actually pretty high. That Shimano Positron derailleur is an interesting historical footnote as their first indexed system, but there’s a reason they abandoned the design pretty quickly. And the one-piece (Ashtabula) cranks are also the province of entry-level bikes.
