Picture from a few days ago says everything. This has been an ongoing issue here that Multnomah County Bridges have been completely negligent and absolutely failed to prevent the relapse of repeated blockage for years. Hopefully, something good will come out of that lawsuit.
absolutely disgusting. I hope ADA sues the hell out of Portland and Multnomah county.
Five months later, this spot constantly experiences unlawful closure. As of 4/28/23, the sidewalk is still closed, access is denied to wheelchairs, and pedestrians are hopping curb and using bikelane as sidewalk.
The city with no pride.

This was abated on 4/18. Then it was like this again when I went by on 4/28.

Where is the outrage?
None of the far left bike or pedestrian groups in Portland seem to care about the disabled or the elderly (they have to go into the dangerous streets when sidewalks are blocked). Enabling homeless individuals to claim public property as their own seems to be more important than ensuring the public’s right to use public sidewalks.
Considering progressives in some places actually support euthanizing the elderly I’m not surprised about these situations like we have here in Portland. I hear the word “compassion” thrown around a lot, but not for elderly or disabled I guess.
